Trojans defeat the #14 Hogs to finish 2nd in Cincinnati
Hello Trojans!
We have just got back in town after back to back events in Minnesota and Cincinnati to start the season. First up was the Gopher Invitational where we finished 8th against SEC and BIG 10 opponents in a very bunched leaderboard. We did not have our best game that week which was attributed to very poor chipping and putting. We had 17 three putts for the week and missed many easy up and downs. We really struggled in the second round to score given the minimal wind and easiest pin locations of the three rounds, but we finished strong in the final round with the second lowest final round of the day in 15mph winds to keep the shot differential close and finish in 8th. Ed Featherstone finished T14th and Rhett South finished T20th.

FINAL LEADERBOARD FROM MINNESOTA
Straight from Minnesota we had a couple days to really work hard on our short game before heading to Cincinnati for the Bearcat Invitational. We got off to a shaky start on the 36 hole day and sat at +6 with 6 holes remaining, but the guys finished strong on the easy portion of the golf course to play the last 6 holes in 9-under par to move into 3rd and put ourselves in the final pairing once again at the Bearcat (were in the final pairing in 2024 as well). The flurry of birdies to finish round 2 gave us the low team round in round 2 along with host school Cincinnati who were in the lead after two rounds. The momentum from round 2 carried over into round 3 as we shot 4-under in the final round to finish in 2nd place and defeat the #14 ranked RAZORBACKS by 6 shots who finished in 3rd. Razorback transfer, Mark Stockdale, led the Trojans at 5-under par for the event to finish in 3rd place individually. Sophomore Ed Featherstone fired an incredible 4-under 67 in the final round to finished T6th at 4-under par. Ed’s final round was the lowest final round by anyone in the field. IT WAS A GREAT DAY TO BE A TROJAN!
We are now off for 10 days before heading to South Carolina for the Bryan Bros Collegiate September 29th-30th.
