Host: Notre Dame
Field: Little Rock, Tennessee, Duke, UCLA, Washington, Purdue, Notre Dame, Louisville, Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa, Rutgers, Georgia Southern, Kent State, Augusta
Finish: 4th
Head-to-Head Wins: 11-3-0
2024-25 Cumulative Head-to-Head Record: 32-12-3
It was a complete team effort by the guys this week! I am super proud of Matteo for his runner-up finish in one of the strongest fields in college golf. Matteo played fantastic all week on a very challenging golf course and in tough weather conditions. As your read further below we were in a very similar position in Cincinnati and did not capitalize, so it was great to see us learn from that experience which I think helped us in the final round at Notre Dame.
The weather this week presented all kinds of challenges with winds up to 30mph on the 36 hole day and then cold temperatures in the final round. Every guy on the team contributed in a critical way to help us finish 4th this week and beat some really good teams this week.
Now it’s time to continue the momentum into our HOME event on Monday and Tuesday!

Bearcat Invitational Recap
Date: September 16th-17th
Course: Coldstream Country Club
Host: Cincinnati
Field: Little Rock, Louisville, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kentucky, Kansas, BYU, UCF, Furman, Augusta, MTSU, FGCU, Sam Houston, UNCG, Memphis, Chattanooga, Illinois State, Southern Mississippi
Finish: T8th
Head-to-Head Wins: 8-7-2
We played very solid on the 36 hole to begin the Bearcat Invitational. Each guy on the team birdied their final hole for us to move into 4th place after two rounds of the event and get into the final pairing with Cincinnati, Kansas, and Louisville. Freshman Freddie Turnell led the team with scores of 72-69 to end the day tied for 9th.

RESULTS AFTER 36 HOLES
The final day was a difficult one for us. Holes 4-10 are the easy stretch at Coldstream Country Club and we played those holes very poorly and then there was no catching back up after that. We did play the tough back nine very well to hang in and finish in a tie for 8th. While this was not the result we wanted we did gain valuable experience and we were able to learn what went wrong in order to better prepare ourselves for Notre Dame and picked up a few good wins over mid majors and KENTUCKY.
